International Workshop on Advances in Competition Policy Analysis Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, November 6, 2017

The Competition and Regulation European Summer School (CRESSE) and the Research Group in Law, Economics and Competition of the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (GDEC/IE/UFRJ) are organizing the International Workshop in Advances in Competition Policy Analysis. The goal of the workshop is to bring together academics, policy makers and other practitioners specializing in the area of competition economics and policy to discuss the recent advances in the area.

We welcome submissions of theoretical, policy oriented or empirical papers related to any one of the main aspects of Competition Policy (dominance, collusion or mergers) or to issues of policy implementation and enforcement, to the relation of competition policy to regulation, industrial and innovation policy and to the relation of competition policy to economic development. Submissions by legal experts are also encouraged.

A scientific committee will select the papers based on a submitted two page extended abstract.

Confirmed Invited Speakers include: Dr. Cristina Caffarra (Charles River Associates), Prof. Yannis Katsoulacos (Athens University of Economics and Business), Prof. Fiona Scott Morton (Yale School of Management), Prof. Howard Shelanski (Georgetown Law), Prof. Maarten Peter Schinkel (University of Amsterdam), Ioannis Kokkoris (Queen Mary University of London), Guilherme Resende (CADE), João Paulo de Resende (CADE), Cristiane Schmidt (CADE) and João Manuel Pinho de Mello (Ministry of Finance).
